One of the biggest problems that I encountered last year was where to store a pool table at a client’s house when it was not in use. The house doesn’t have much to speak for in terms of storage so we had to make something built-in on the wall to make an alternative storage space. I would have loved to have a nice kid’s bathroom like these but sadly during that time, designers weren’t keen on designing solely for children. I can’t get over how great these faux leather tiles look. They look so realistic that I can’t resist the urge to touch them. Believe it or not, these are tiles. I’ve been blogging about pretty unique and modern sofas but I’ve never come across a design like this. The Moody Couch can be reconfigured in so many ways as long as you can imagine it. I like that it isn’t inhibited by form and that the user’s comfort is the number one priority. Saw this as one of the new products on the Interior Design Magazine the other day and I particularly liked this light bulb from Alessi. It definitely beats the normal looking bulbs we have today. It’s really good design practice to keep the outside of your home as pretty and as cozy as it is inside of it. I’m particularly drawn to a well-designed garden which is kind of a sanctuary at night. To be honest, this is the first time I’ve heard Donna Karan releasing her own line of furniture since I only know of her being prominent in the field of fashion. This chair was designed by Italian designer Giancarlo Zema. Judging from the looks of this chair, this would be nice to lounge around in, it looks uber comfortable. I love that the “wedges” are of different colors and you don’t need to further accessorize it. It can stand out on its own as a focal point in the room.

I think this is a great idea. Sometimes calendars can be eyesores around the house unless they are very well designed. The calendar with a vase for example was designed by Jin-woog Koo of the NOTHING dESIGN Group. I love the fact that they’re very decorative.

Karim Rashid does it again. This time his Martela Koop chair looks every bit as comfy as attention grabbing as it could be. I really like his bold use of colors. I can just imagine me sitting on it and loosing a lot of hours reading a book cooped up inside it.

You’ve probably seen it in movies, hunting cabins decorated with moose or deer heads. Or you probably have one in your home right now. I’m just saying this isn’t for me, even if you modernize it a bit. Do they look beautiful to you? I just hope we veer away from this tradition. It just feels very barbaric to me.
